Relay For Life is an overnight celebration of hope, progress and answers. In honor of the 8.5 million Americans who have survived cancer, teams of friends, families and co-workers raise funds to support the continued fight against the disease. You can walk. You can run. You can Relay For Life. This is an American Cancer Society signature activity. Held each June in YakimaSaturday,12:00 noon: Registration, Opening Ceremony 12:15 pm: Victory/Survivor Lap: 10:00 pm: Luminaria Ceremony: Sunday,12:00 noon: Closing Ceremony: Contact Marilyn Bowman at 509-783-1574, ext. 14 for information about the survivor dinner Luminaria: hope shines the brightest during the luminaria ceremony at Relay For Life. Each light honors someone who has battled cancer. Each light, laid out alongside the track and burning through the night, commemorates a treasured relationship. Luminarias light the path of hope. Luminarias will be available through any of the Relay Team Captains, at the Relay, or at The Discovery Shop. Cost is $10-there is no deadline. Rain contingency plans - We will walk in the rain, if it rains. T-Shirt Information: T-shirts are available for those participating on a team. However, there will be a few for sale the day of Relay at the Relay Store for $10. You may put your team name on them. There is no deadline.
